- Abstract
- The article analyses the terminology, used by the Lithuanian «szlachta» in their political activity during the reign of Sigismund III and Wladyslaw IV. As a main source for the analysis, the «sejmiki» (local diets) documents, reflecting the political life of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, were used. The meaning and way of usage of the terms «res publica», or «fatherland», as well as the terms, characterising the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish Crown were scrutinised.
