- Abstract
- The article takes the case of the Chuvash of Tatarstan to examine the everyday life of a pagan community and the ways of preserving traditional beliefs during different historical periods. It further discusses aspects of micro-history such as the personification of certain historical events and processes related to religious practices, and the role of the subjective (personal) factors in the preservation and development of traditional beliefs.
