Abstract
The classification of Russian verbs proposed in the article [Maslov 1948] reveals a fundamental similarity with the well-known semantic classification of English verbs proposed by Z. Wendler. The increased attention to these classifications has put the study of lexical aspectuality in its opposition to grammatical one to a new level. It is essential that the comparison of the classifications of Yu.S. Maslov and Z. Wendler is possible only on condition that the perfect and imperfect form of the verb in the Russian language are considered as forms of one word.
