- Abstract
- The article analyzes the work and the political results of the VII Congress of the DPRK ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) held in May 2016 in Pyongyang. The author comes to the conclusion that the congress has not introduced any fundamental changes in internal and external policy of the WPK conducted over the last decades. The congress confirmed the policy of building socialism, expressed the intention to strengthen nuclear deterrent, to achieve the status of de facto nuclear power.
