Abstract

With the further strengthening of developing Asian countries such as China, the global economic center of gravity is shifting to the Asia-Pacific region, and China's influence is spreading from East Asia to the rest of the world through the «Belt and Road» strategy. China's economic and military development has led to a profound change in U.S. policy toward China, especially after the Trump administration launched a trade war with China. Against the back-drop of deteriorating Sino-US relations, the US launched its own Indo-Pacific strategy at this time, which also reflects the tightening of US strategy toward China. This article analyzes the alliance structure of the US Indo-Pacific Strategy, describes the process and reasons for its formation, and thus concludes the implications of the US Indo-Pacific Strategy for the security of the Indo-Pacific region and its future development.
