Abstract

The article shows two different viewpoints widely spread among the American establishment and political experts on the problem of changing the U.S. global role. Some of them are sure that the sustainable world development is possible only under American economic and military leadership. Others believe that the American liberal world order is over, and the U.S. should elaborate new foreign policy approaches in order not to stay on the margins of the new reality. The author reveals arguments from both sides.
