- Abstract
- The article considers the features of the classical concepts of fashion by T. Veblen and G. Simmel, which replaced the interpretations of fashion in mass society By p. Bourdieu, R. Barth and G. Bloomer. Fashion in post-mass society is analyzed by the example of the concept of J. Baudrillard. In each of the theories, attention is drawn to ideas about the essence of fashion, its social functions, sources of its origin, patterns of distribution, as well as to which social groups set the fashion.
