- Abstract
The article analyses the ways the key figures of the Russian Symbolism are represented in «The Anglo-Russian Literary Society. Proceedings», in the context of the history of the reception of the Russian Silver Age literature in England and of the emergence of its English canon. The brief descriptions of Balmont and Sologub in the «Proceedings» are of particular interest, for they demonstrate two different strategies of introducing a foreign author to the readership.
