- Abstract
The article deals with the literary use of the Aesopian language in A. I. Solzhenitsyn’s The Gulag Archipelago. Even though the book features the external signs of the Aesopian language (allegory, symbol, emblem, periphrasis, metaphor), yet, while the Aesopian language tends to encode and obscure, Solzhenitsyn’s non-Aesopian language reveals rather than conceals
