- Abstract
- In the first part of our study, we talked about the similarity of the main characters of "The Red-Lipped Guest" (1909) by F. Sologub, "The Last Pages from a Woman's Diary" by V. Ya. Bryusov (1910) and "The Affairs of the Cornet Elagin" (1926) by I. A. Bunin ... Being the “descendants” of Pushkin’s Cleopatra, they lived the scenario “love in exchange for the life (honor, health ...) of a man”, outlined but not developed by Pushkin in the unfinished ballad “Cleopatra” and two prose fragments - “Egyptian Nights” and “ We spent the evening at the dacha ... ". The ensemble of partners of our heroines also goes back to the ballad "Cleopatra", invariably including the ruined young man. If we consider the presence of Pushkin's canvas in "The Red-Lipped Guest", "Last Pages ..." and "Case ..." as proven, then why was it never noticed? All the attention of readers and researchers was distracted by the patterns of exquisite modernist dressing drawn over this canvas. This article will be devoted to them.
