Аннотация

Очерк рассказывает о жизни и деятельности известного британского политика С. Криппса. Автор прослеживает основные этапы политической карьеры Криппса, формирование и эволюцию его общественно-политических взглядов, рассматривает роль в истории лейбористской партии в качестве одного из лидеров ее левого крыла в 1930-е гг. и министра в правительствах К. Эттли в 1940-е гг. Особое внимание уделено пребыванию Криппса в СССР в качестве посла в период Второй мировой войны, а также его «миссии» в Индии.
